“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father.
Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.
Have you ever had someone coming to your house to fix something that was broken? It could be your plumbing, your air conditioner, your cable, or even your doorbell.
You have to wait real close to the door or you will not hear someone knocking. You don’t want to miss the plumber because you don’t know when you will get another one to come out and help you.
You do all your work as close to the door as possible because you do not want to miss the knock at the door. You are afraid to even slip to the kitchen to get a
drink or go to the bedroom to get something because you are sure he will come the moment you step away.
Jesus tells us to be on alert. No one knows the day or hour of His return, not even the angels in heaven. Jesus then shares about a servant who is to wait at the
door for his master’s return. It could be morning, noon, or night, but the servant is to watch at the door. Jesus warns us to not fall asleep. Jesus warns us to “Watch” for His return.
We do not know the day or hour of Christ’s return to take His children home with Him. We have to be watching and waiting at the door for His return. We need to
live each day like it may be the day of Christ’s return. We don’t want Christ to return and find us asleep and not doing the work He has called us to do.
When Christ returns, it will be too late to run to your neighbor’s house and knock on the door pleading with them to accept Jesus as their Savior. Now is the time
to be sharing with them and everyone God puts into your path because you do not know when Jesus will return.
Let’s be ready for the return of Christ. Let’s live each day, like it could be the day that Jesus returns to earth. Let’s be ready to serve the Lord each day He
gives us to serve Him.
Have a great day and keep moving forward!
