Over 100 years ago, a candy maker developed a mild, chewy chocolate treat and gave it the name “Tootsie Roll.”
Since then, the wrapper of the Tootsie Roll has changed several times.
It has changed in size.
It has changed in shape.
It has changed in color.
The typeface has changed.
The design and artwork on the wrapper have changed.
But one thing has remained remarkably consistent: the recipe for the candy in the wrapper has not varied.
Likewise, we can change the wrapping that we use to deliver the good news of Jesus, but we must never change the recipe.
We can change the methods by which we communicate the Gospel; we need to do that from time to time -- but the message must never be compromised.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
Suggested Bible Reading
1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Today as you pray …
Simply reflect on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth and lived a perfect life so that He could pay the penalty for your sin. He died as the perfect substitution and sacrifice. He rose from the grave conquering death and Satan so that if you might trust in Him, you will be made righteous in God’s sight.
Prayerfully read: Ephesians 2:1-10, Philippians 2:5-11, and Isaiah 53.
