Traffic Report

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13

Every now and then, we’ll be driving down the highway, and we’ll get stuck in traffic. Not just a momentary slowdown, but gridlock on the interstate.

You know how it is. You’re sitting there, wondering, “What’s causing this backup? How far down the road is the traffic stopped? How long am I going to be here?” And, “Is there some exit I can take to get out of this mess?”

That’s when a lot of people start checking the different stations on their car radios to see if they can find a traffic report. These traffic reports are normally provided by a person flying around in a helicopter who has a large vantage point.

The problem is, by the time you get the traffic report in that situation, you’re already STUCK in traffic.

Wiser people learn to check the traffic report before they leave for their trip. They hear the report and adjust their trip accordingly.

People don’t tune in to the traffic report for their listening pleasure. It’s not entertainment. They listen to get information on situations they can’t see themselves.

Likewise, as Christians, we need eyes that we don’t have. God has a greater vantage point. God has a perfect vantage point.

God’s Word penetrates into the deepest things of life and provides us the information we need to navigate through successfully.

The problem is that we often ignore His Word and think we can figure things out on our own. The reality is that when God speaks in His Word, it is absolutely sure. We can rest in the fact that when God commands us to do something, it is for out good and His supreme glory.

Have you read His Word today? Are you going to obey what it is teaching you do?

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
