Years ago, work crews marked construction sites by putting out smudge pots – oil burning devices with open flames.
One day, Sarah, a 4-year-old girl, got too close to a smudge pot and her pants caught fire. The flame burned her
so severely that she wound up with scars running the length and breadth of her legs that looked like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
Several years later, when she was in the third grade, Sarah was asked, “If you could have one wish, what would it be?”
Sarah wrote: “I want everyone to have legs like mine.”
Perhaps you have felt the same way that Sarah did.
When we suffer pain, we want other people to understand. We want others to be like us so that they can identify with
The Bible says:
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among
us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Jesus came to earth to identify with us. Whatever your pain or weakness is, He knows exactly what you are going through.
More than that, He wants to be in your life to strengthen, comfort, and encourage you.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
