A family on the south side of Chicago was having a wake in their home for their deceased father. Friends and relatives had gathered at the home to share the moments
of grief with the family. As the night wore on, coffee was served. They filled the sugar bowl from a can. Nine guests sweetened their coffee with the white, sweet contents of the can. During the night these guests became violently ill, and five of them died.
When an investigation was conducted, it was discovered that what these people had taken for sugar was really an insecticide.
They sincerely believed it was sugar. However, they were sincerely wrong.
I’ve heard it said, “It doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you're sincere.” My friend, this is not a true statement.
God's Word says in Proverbs 14:12:
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
Always judge what you believe against the word of God. And conversely, if you choose to not believe in something, that doesn’t make it less real either. Just as
a belief in flying pigs will never make them a reality, a lack of belief in prisons will never free an inmate.
Let’s believe rightly. God cares about what we believe and how we worship Him.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
