O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
For years, Helen gave generous Christmas presents to her grandchildren, but none of the kids ever sent thank-you notes.
Then, one Christmas, everything changed.
Helen sent a hundred dollar check to each grandchild. The very next day, every child came in person to thank her.
She was telling this to a friend of hers, who said, “How wonderful! What do you think caused them to be so polite?”
“That’s easy,” said Helen. “This year, I didn’t sign the checks!”
What does God have to do to get you to be thankful to Him?
· He has blessed you with a new day of life.
· He’s put people around you who care about you.
· He’s provided the resources for you to make it through this day.
· He has sustained you and guided you in the past.
· He promises to be with you as you move into the future.
Most of all, He has provided the gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ to everyone who trusts in Him.
Don’t forget to thank God for the benefits and blessings He has poured into your life. It may be that God has placed an “unsigned check” in your life today – some
blessing that you can only receive by praising Him.
Take a moment to remember His goodness to you, and to simply give Him thanks and praise.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
