Secret Weapon

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14

There's an old imaginary story of the devil holding a yard sale. There on the table were all kinds of weapons that he uses in his arsenal. Lust. Lies. Drugs. Alcohol. Pornography. Adultery. Rebellion. People came by to see if they wanted to buy anything from Satan's yard sale.

One shopper came by, and he saw this one weapon, that was obviously used and worn. It was over in the corner, and it had a price tag on it that was 10 times higher than anything else.

The shopper asked Satan: “What is this weapon? And why do you want so much for it?”

Satan replied, "Oh, that’s my favorite weapon to use. It’s called discouragement. When I can’t tempt a person or even deceive them, then I can use that weapon of discouragement to render them useless."  And then with a wicked grin, Satan said, "And the great thing about this weapon is, most people don't even know it belongs to me."

Jesus tells us in John 10:10,

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

We have an enemy and he is real. But don’t be discouraged, Satan, our enemy, has already been defeated.

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
