The apostles returned to Jesus and told Him all that they had done and taught. And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. Mark 6:30-31
I heard about a preacher who would say , "The devil never takes a vacation, so why should I?"
But one day, someone reminded him that the devil was not his example to follow.
In Mark 6:30-31, Jesus heard the wonderful report that His disciples brought back. They were doing the work He had sent them to do. God was using them, and Jesus was glad and praised God. And then He said to them, “Come away by yourselves…..and rest for a while”.
Did you know it's all right for Christians to rest? It's all right for Christians to take a vacation. Jesus gives us permission, even in our service to Him to occasionally step back for a few moments, or maybe a few days for some relaxation and rest. Sometimes, we need “down time” to reflect on what God is doing in our lives.
Perhaps you should take some time to stop and rest for a while. It might be just what the Great Physician has ordered!
Have a great day, a keep moving forward!
