Precious Treasure

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Matthew 5:5-6

Imagine that your banker phoned you late on Friday afternoon to tell you he had some very good news.

He told you that an anonymous donor, who loves you very much, has decided to deposit 86,400 pennies into your account each morning, starting tomorrow.

That’s $864 dollars a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

Then, your banker adds, “There’s only one stipulation: You’ve got to spend all the money for that day in the day you receive it. No balance will be carried over to the next day.”

So you do the math. $864 a day times seven equals more than $6,000 each week. Times 52, that’s almost $315,000 a year that you will have available to you if you’re diligent to spend it each day.

Remember, whatever you don’t spend is forfeited.

That’s an imaginary story. Now let’s talk about reality. Every morning, God, Who loves you with all of His heart, deposits into your account of time 86,400 seconds – which represents 1,440 minutes, which equals 24 hours each day.

God gives you 86,400 seconds, and it’s yours to spend, but here’s the truth: It doesn’t carry over.

Someone has said, “Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you want to, but you can spend it only once.”

Your time is like a precious treasure that God has given you, and how you spend your time adds up to how you spend your life.

God desires for us to spend our lives passionately pursuing His kingdom.

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
