Permission to Build

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;  2 Corinthians 5:16-18

A businessman was trying to sell a warehouse that had been empty for months.  It was in need of extensive repairs.  Vandals had damaged the doors, smashed the windows, and piled trash around the interior.

As he showed the prospective buyer around the building, he took pains to say that the broken windows would be replaced, and that crews would be hired to correct the structural damage and clean out the garbage.

"Forget the repairs," the buyer said. “When I buy this place, I'm going to build something brand new. I don't want the building; I want the site."

Compared with the renovation God has in mind, our efforts to improve our own lives are as trivial as sweeping a warehouse slated for the wrecking ball!

When you come to Christ for salvation, God doesn’t intend to make your old life presentable.  All He wants is the site and permission to build in you a brand new life!

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
