Last Chapter

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. Psalm 98:1-2

One night a little boy was up late reading a murder mystery. It involved a dastardly villain who plotted all kinds of mayhem for the heroine. After a while the boy couldn’t stop shivering in dread. He felt so sorry for the heroine. The boy became so afraid of the villain that he couldn’t stand the suspense any longer. Instead of waiting to finish the book, he decided to skip to the last chapter.

When the boy found out the villain got what he deserved and the heroine was delivered, he sighed with relief. Relaxed and certain of the end, he could go back and read the remainder of the book. But this time his attitude was different. Every time the villain would plot another evil deed, the boy would say smiling, “If you knew what I know, you wouldn’t be so proud and cocky right now.” You see, he had read the last chapter.

As God’s children, we already know the last chapter of this life. We know how the story of good and evil is going to end. Satan will get his punishment for all eternity. Therefore, we can pray with confidence to our God, knowing He has all situations under His control. Jesus has won the ultimate victory.

Have a great day and keep moving forward!
