Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to
you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Connie was applying for a new job. As the interview came to a close, it looked as though the job were hers. So, she began to ask some questions of her own.
“Will the company pay for my medical insurance?” Connie asked.
“The cost is deducted from your paycheck,” said the interviewer.
"The last place I worked, the company paid for it," Connie said.
"Did they pay for your life insurance too?"
"Yes," she said.
"And for your dental insurance?"
"Yes, they did," Connie answered. "Not only that, but we got unlimited sick leave, a month's vacation, a Christmas bonus, two hour lunch breaks, and free child
"So why did you leave such a perfect situation?" the incredulous interviewer asked.
"The company went bankrupt!" Connie replied.
Well, it seems that there are no perfect situations in the workplace, in families, in churches, or in the world at large. Every set of circumstances has its ups
Even in a fallen, imperfect world, however, we can experience real joy and peace when we are trusting in Jesus Christ.
Today, rejoice that Jesus Christ gives rest to those who labor and peace for those who are troubled.
