In the Box

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Psalm 25:4-5

I read that Henry Ford once asked the engineers to pack the transmissions for his Model-T Fords in a particular sized box. According to the story, Ford insisted on painstaking measurements for the boxes, and gave careful orders for what materials were to be used.

His engineers were confused, but they obeyed the boss’s instructions and made sure the boxes were built to his specifications.

When the transmissions were delivered, the factory workers took apart the boxes and used them for floorboards in the Model-Ts! That’s called looking ahead.

In an even greater way, God has plans for us as His people. Nothing catches Him by surprise, and He is ready to answer our prayers perfectly, even before we call on His name.

Isaiah 65:24 says:

Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.

You may not understand exactly how God is working right now in your life. Some of the things He’s asking you to do may seem strange or nonsensical. But you can rest assured that He has a plan and He is working in ways you cannot see to accomplish His purposes in you.

Adrian Rogers said, “We do not live by our understanding; we live by His promises.”

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
