Imprisoned

Danny Villegas walked inside a Federal Credit Union in Florida and told the teller he was robbing her. Then he said something strange: "You might as well call the police right now."

Then he did something even stranger: Villegas sat down on a couch in the lobby and waited for police to arrive.

Lt. Ron Wright of the South Daytona Police Department said "He wanted to rob a federal bank because he wanted to go back to a federal penitentiary."

Ten years prior he had robbed a bank and was sentenced to 70 months in a federal penitentiary in Phoenix.

After being released and working construction in Texas, he had gotten tired of the work and decided he liked prison life so much that he committed another crime, just so he could return!

Crazy, but here's something crazier — Christians who imprison themselves in the same carnality and sin that Jesus died to release us from.

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!

Prayer Guide

Today as you pray …

Ask God to give you the strength to turn away from the sin that is in your life.

Trust that Christ is faithful to forgive you even when you are unfaithful.

Be encouraged to know that Christians are no longer slaves to sin. We now serve Christ as Lord who has power over sin.
