“Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” Psalm 29:1-2
Years ago, at a retreat for our church leaders and their wives, we were talking about serving the Lord. At one of the sessions, I taught the principal of putting Jesus first in your life. After I finished speaking, we had a time for group discussion.
One of the precious ladies there shared something I'll never forget. "I used to put Jesus first in my life, but then I discovered that wasn't enough." Her words intrigued everyone in the room. I asked her to elaborate. She said, "When I put Jesus first in my life, I can attend to Him and then move on to the things that are second and third and fourth and fifth in my life. But when I make Him the center of my life, everything I do connects to Him."
For us to give God the glory due His name means we must understand that Jesus is not just part of our lives. To give God glory means to understand that Jesus is our life. Today, thank God that Jesus is your life. Ask Him to help you to make Him the center of all you do, all you think, and all that you are.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
