And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and
that He rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews
Imagine buying a car with an incredible airbag system. Front. Sides. Every angle protected. And you decide, before you can trust the airbags, that you must test
So, you put your own crash-test dummy in the front seat of the car, tie a brick to the accelerator, and somehow manage to send the car speeding toward a solid brick
wall at 55 MPH, just the test the airbags.
We wouldn’t do that. It would be foolish. We just trust that the airbag system works.
Or, imagine pushing an elevator button in a three-story building, putting a 250 pound weight on the elevator, and then sending the elevator with nothing but the
weight inside to the third floor. After the elevator comes back down you get in. Someone asks you, “Why?” and you reply “I couldn’t’ trust it to hold me until I test it.”
Again, we wouldn’t do that…foolish. We trust that the elevator will hold us.
Some people, some Christians, have an attitude with God that says: “Until I test You, I cannot trust You.”
The Devil will whisper in your ear: “That’s right. I’ll show you exactly how to set up some hoops for God to jump through. Give Him some tests. Require some signs
from Him. Tell Him you won’t get saved unless He gives you a vision or something. Tell Him you won’t obey Him unless He does five things you asked Him to do.”
Friend, God is trustworthy.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
