Jesus said: “
For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.”
Someone once said “A pint of example is worth a gallon of advice.”
Imagine teaching a child to tie his shoes using words alone.
You might say something like this: “First, take the two strings and lay them across the top of the shoe, going in opposite directions.
Lay one of the strings over the other and pull it underneath. Now pull on the ends of both strings so the “knot” you just made is tight. Now, take the string on the left and make a loop with it, holding the base of the loop between your left thumb and index
That’s a tough thing to teach with words. A diagram or an example would make things so much easier to understand.
No wonder we say,
“Here, let me just show you ...” so often.
Who are you watching – and what are you learning?
If people follow your example, where will it lead? Headed toward God or away from Him?
Today, you can follow the example of Jesus and of God’s people in Scripture. You can also find contemporary role models and examples to
follow as you live your life for Christ.
Have a great day and keep moving forward!
