Focus

Years ago, my son went with his aunt to a restaurant where they had a magician. He was doing card tricks, making things disappear, all kinds of things. He did one "audience participation" trick that involved Joshua and his Aunt Melissa. They helped him do whatever it was they were supposed to do, and then they were making their way back to their seats. Once they sat down, the magician walked up to them, held up two wristwatches and said, "Are these yours?" They were. Somehow, he had managed to unbuckle their wristwatches and take them without Joshua or his aunt even knowing it

They couldn't believe it. But it was all a matter of focus.

Magicians use a trick called "misdirection" — the technique of getting you to pay attention to the wrong thing so that they can do their trick.

They distract your focus and play tricks on you.

Satan is a master of misdirection. He wants you to focus on the wrong thing — not to play tricks on you, but to destroy you.

Today, claim your victory as a born-again child of God. Don’t allow Satan’s temptations, discouragements, lies, and traps to defeat you today.

Let Jesus answer the door when the Devil comes knocking, and remember: “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4, ESV).

Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
