Don't Quit

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:1-3

A terrible winter storm had dumped two and a half feet of snow on a city. The snow had finally stopped, and now it was time to begin digging out.

Arthur found his old snow shovel in the garage, put on his thermal underwear, two pair of pants, a flannel shirt, his heaviest coat, his boots and his gloves and went out to the driveway.

He had been shoveling for a while when two boys carrying snow shovels approached him. "Can we shovel your snow, mister?" one of them asked. "Only ten dollars!"

Arthur huffed out a reply. "Can't you see that I'm doing it myself?"

"Sure," said the boy. "That's why we asked. Most of our business comes from people who are half way through and feel like quitting!"
