In the middle of winter, a terrible storm had dumped two and a half feet of snow on a city. The snow had finally stopped, and now it was time to begin digging out.
Arthur found his old snow shovel in the garage, put on his thermal underwear, two pair of pants, a flannel shirt, his heaviest coat, his boots and his gloves and
went out to the driveway.
He had been shoveling for about an hour and a half when two boys carrying snow shovels approached him. "Can we shovel your snow, mister?" one of them asked. "Only
Puzzled, Arthur huffed out a reply. "Can't you see that I'm doing it myself?"
"Sure," said the boy. "That's why we asked. We're getting most of our business from people who are half way through and feel like quitting!"
