If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ
is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians
I heard about a man who went to visit his friend John, who lived on a farm. As this young man was driving to see John, he was going down a country road that led
to the farmhouse and getting closer and closer to the farm.
As he was driving up, he saw something on the barn that just mesmerized him. So much, that he just had to stop the car and get out making sure that what he thought
he saw, was true.
On the barn were twenty red and white targets. On those twenty targets there were twenty bulls eyes. In each one of those bulls eyes, right in the middle, there
were twenty bullet holes. No other bullet holes in the side of the barn.
He couldn’t believe it. When he got to the house he said, “John, before we get stared today, I just need to ask you a question. Who did that shooting out at the
John replied “Well, I did.”
He said, “Man that’s amazing! You shot twenty times and each time you hit the bulls eye. I can’t believe you did it! How did you learn to shoot like that?”
John said, “It was easy. I shot first and then I went and painted the bulls eye later.”
As believers in Jesus Christ, we may look like we are on target, but God knows.
We may not know how to shoot all that straight, but we know how to paint things up pretty good. We know how to cover things and make our lives look like they are
being more productive and more on target than they really are.
Jesus Christ can work in your life to transform the way that you look at your life. He can show you and teach you to live a life that hits the target that He has
established. By the way, for every person reading this, there is a target, there is a purpose, and there is something that He has put in front of you. God wants you to live your life on target.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
