The heart of man plans his way, but the
establishes his steps. Proverbs
A farmer had a big pile of brush that he was going to burn. He saw a small bird’s
nest in the pile, and so he destroyed the nest. A few days later, the farmer came back to discover the little bird rebuilding its nest. Again the farmer tore the nest apart. Undaunted, the little bird built its nest again. And, once again, the farmer destroyed
Finally, the little bird gave up.
Can you imagine how frustrated that little bird must have been? He was surely convinced
that the farmer was his worst enemy, tearing up his house over and over again.
What he didn’t understand was that the farmer was actually his best friend, protecting
him from putting his family in a place that was going to go up in flames!
Sometimes, we may wonder why God allows obstacles in our paths and roadblocks on our
journey. God sees infinitely farther than we do. He knows when the road ahead is washed out and when our path will take us over a cliff. The hindrances and trials we face in life are often acts of God’s grace, protecting us from harm and preparing us for something
When it seems like your plans are coming to shambles, remember that God is directing your steps. He’s working in every circumstance of your life to bring about
His glory and your good.
Have a great day, and keep moving forward!
